Probably the most anticipated and enjoyed exercise is a trip to the range. “Cadets” are exposed to the various tools and weapons used by the Department. Ultimately, they even get a chance to try them out… under close supervision of course!

Once again, the Mt. Lebanon Police Department and Police Association conducted the ever popular citizens police academy. People of all ages and groups got into the act of policing in the nine week program. Participants were exposed to and tried out various techniques. Here, Detective Heidenreich teaches a class about evidence and crime scene investigation.

This was a civic community project lead by the Police Association and the Crime Prevention Unit  for families in need of food and winter jackets for children in the Mt.
