Last week, a team of teachers at Jefferson Middle School selected several students to receive Citizenship Awards. The recipients were chosen based on demonstrated leadership and their ability to model the way by choosing to “Do The Right Thing.” The Mt. Lebanon Police Association provided the winners with gift cards as an additional special token for making positive choices, being model citizens, and contributing to make the school a better place.

On June 1st, Mt. Lebanon Police Association members once again participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run. The South Hills leg of the event began near the intersection of Castle Shannon Boulevard and Washington Road. It, like all the other local legs that day, ended in the meetings of various teams at Station Square in Pittsburgh. Officers who ran received an incredible welcome from children outside of Washington Elementary and Mellon Middle Schools. Thanks to all who participated, helping to bring much needed awareness and funds to this worthy cause!Torch Run - Team
